# Managed website hosting for businesses

Managed website hosting is hosting that techprojects.lt administers for you. We host your site in a hosting account we administer, install an SSL certificate, use Cloudflare protection, make daily backups, check that the site is reachable and carry out basic technical maintenance. The price is €20/month, and it is final.

Price (Managed website hosting): €20 / month ([price list](https://techprojects.lt/en/pricing/))

## What does €20/month include?

The managed hosting price includes six things. They are the same for every site we host, so the monthly amount stays the same however many times a month you contact us about hosting.

- Server space: Your site's files and database are stored on the hosting provider's server. We administer the account, its settings and its resources.
- SSL certificate and HTTPS: We install the certificate, redirect every address to HTTPS and make sure the certificate is renewed on time.
- Cloudflare protection: Traffic to your site passes through Cloudflare protection, which stops some malicious requests before they reach the server.
- Backups: Daily backups of the site's files and database, kept for at least 7 days. They let us restore an earlier working version.
- Uptime monitoring: We check automatically that the site opens. If it becomes unreachable, we find out without you having to tell us.
- Basic technical maintenance: Server environment settings, PHP version compatibility and small technical fixes for the agreed platform.

## How is managed hosting different from a cheap hosting plan?

The cheapest hosting plans are a self-service product: you get server space and a control panel. Installing SSL, running updates, checking backups and investigating outages are then up to you, or you order them separately.

Managed hosting costs €20/month because this work is part of the price: SSL, Cloudflare protection, backups, uptime monitoring and basic technical maintenance. If you look after the technical side of your site yourself, a self-service plan will do. If you want us to be responsible for it, choose managed hosting.

| | Self-service hosting plan | Managed hosting, €20/month |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Server space and control panel | Yes | Yes |
| SSL installation | You do it yourself or order it separately | Included in the price |
| Cloudflare protection | You connect it yourself if you need it | Included in the price |
| Backups | Checking them is your responsibility | Daily, kept for at least 7 days |
| Uptime monitoring and outage investigation | You do it yourself or order it separately | Uptime monitoring and basic technical maintenance included |
| Best for | When you look after the technical side of the site yourself | When you want us to be responsible for the technical side |

## Whose servers does the website run on?

We do not own data centres and we are not building any. We host sites on the infrastructure of an international hosting provider, which we administer ourselves: we know its control panel, its backup options, its PHP settings and its limits. We choose the provider, so it may change, but for anything about hosting you always contact us.

You can also buy a hosting account yourself. In that case you pay the hosting fee to the provider directly, and you handle updates, SSL, backup checks and outage investigation on your own or order them separately. Managed hosting is for people who want one contact: when the site won't open, you write to us instead of working out whose responsibility it is.

## Who is managed hosting for?

Managed hosting suits small and medium-sized business websites best: sites that need a stable environment and a person responsible for the technical side.

- Business and WordPress websites: Websites of service companies, manufacturers and specialists whose content changes a few times a month.
- Small WooCommerce online stores: Stores with Paysera or Montonio payments and Omniva or LP Express delivery, with a typical flow of orders.
- Websites we built: After launch, the project stays in the same environment it was built and tested in.
- Websites we take over: We take over sites built by other developers after a technical assessment, once we know their platform, size and dependencies.

## When do you need a different solution?

Shared hosting does not suit every project. High-traffic online stores, systems with separate Node.js or Docker services, and projects with special security or data location requirements need a separate assessment. In that case we propose suitable infrastructure and its price in writing before we move anything. If the €20 plan does not suit your project, we tell you straight away.

## How do we move a website to our hosting?

We move the site so that visitors don't notice the change. The website migration page describes the whole process.

- Assessment: We check the platform, the site's size, the PHP version, and its email and domain dependencies.
- Backup and transfer: We back up the whole site, move the files and the database, and test the site in the new environment.
- DNS and HTTPS: We change the DNS records, install the SSL certificate and check that email still works.
- Checks after the switch: We review forms, payments and redirects, and turn on uptime monitoring.

## Domain, email and other fees

Domain registration is not included in the hosting price. We recommend registering the domain in your company's name, because the domain is a business asset. Third-party fees, such as domain renewal or paid plugins, are listed separately.

Email depends on the domain's DNS records. Even if we move only the website, we check the MX and other mail records so that no messages are lost. Whether to move the mailboxes as well is something we agree on before the work starts.

## Hosting, administration or both?

Hosting at €20/month looks after the environment the site runs in. Website administration at €60/month looks after what visitors see on the site: products, prices, text, photos and promotional banners. For most businesses that don't change the content themselves, it is worth having both. The website maintenance page compares the plans.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does website hosting cost?

Managed website hosting costs €20/month. The price covers server space, an SSL certificate, Cloudflare protection, daily backups, uptime monitoring and basic technical maintenance. The price is final, with no extra fees. Domain registration and paid third-party tools are not included in this amount and are listed separately.

### Can you move my existing website?

Yes, if you have access to your current hosting and domain. First we assess the platform, the size of the site and its email dependencies. Then we make a backup, move the site, test it in the new environment and only then change the DNS. We tell you the scope and price of the migration before we start.

### What happens if my website stops working?

Uptime monitoring alerts us automatically when the site becomes unreachable. We then check whether the problem lies in the server, the DNS, the certificate or the site itself, and restore it from a backup if needed. For monthly-plan clients we start fixing outages the same working day. We tell you the cause and what we did in writing.

### Does hosting include content changes?

No. Hosting covers the environment the site runs in: the server, SSL, Cloudflare protection, backups, monitoring and basic maintenance. Changes to products, prices, text or photos are covered by website administration at €60/month, or by content entry at €45/hour when you need changes only occasionally.
